Skype for Business is now available to remote users using dbRasWeb, beyond the traditional IM, users can now use Audio and Video while remotely connected from their personal devices.

In addition, if your account has been enabled for external dialling, you can also receive and establish external calls.

It is advised to use a supported headset and video camera for an optimum performance of Skype audio/video calls and meetings.

To get your system ready, beyond the dbRasweb requirements (Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace) you would also need to install the Citrix HDX Real Time Engine.

Select your version of Citrix ICA and follow the installation steps accordingly. To find the Citrix version installed on your machine, please visit the section 'How to verify the Citrix ICA component installed?' in help page.

Installation Steps

Make sure you are running a recent version of the Citrix Receiver.

Download the HDX Real Time Media Engine for from the following link.

Install the HDX Real Time Media Engine .

Reboot your device (laptop or workstation).

Connect to your DoD using dbRasWeb.

The taskbar of your Windows DoD will contain an icon for the Citrix HDX Real Time Connector.

If you hover over the icon, it should show a Connected status, and must show an icon similar to the following screenshot.

Open the Skype for Business Options, select the Audio Device tab, and your headset should be listed.

Your headset can now be tested by selecting "Check Audio Quality".

Selecting the Video Device tab, you can check if your camera was properly detected.

You should be ready to go.
